A rare and unusual TIMEX 400

A rare and unusual TIMEX 400: made in 1960 in West Germany for one year only. Powered by a 17 jewel DUROWE movement (Deutsche Uhren Rohwerke) the 400 model was top of the line for Timex. Production moved to Japan (Seiko) in 1961 and was part of the marketing effort to push Timex as a global brand.

This watch is NOT WORKING at present: features a lovely golden dial, minor corrosion on the minute and hour hands, 1/20 10KGF bezel in decent condition, crystal in fair condition, scratches can be buffed out. I would also draw attention to the crown: it is original and hard to find.
The case back has the corrosive marks typical of older watches caused by the wearer's sweat over the years. They are not visible when the watch is worn. Comes with the original 10KGF SPEIDEL bracelet in excellent condition. The watch needs a good cleaning and is an excellent candidate for repair and wear: a definitive collector's piece that is AFFORDABLE and will only gain in value over the years.......
