This product is made from raw silk threads and is a hand-woven item using the traditional techniques designated as an Important Cultural Property, known as "Echigo Jofu." It embodies the unique folk art characteristics of the snow country and can be confidently recommended for both its dyeing quality and craftsmanship as 'Authentic Shiokawa Tsumugi weaving.'
When using this fabric, it is advised to remove the finishing starch (called "jiiri") to obtain the characteristic softness and luster of raw silk.
