1-1/4" x 36" inch round poplar wood dowels. These wood dowels are straight and have a close tolerance. They are easy to work with and stain and paint easily. Made in the USA.
Properties of Poplar Wood:
A light weight yet medium to dense wood with low bending, shock resistance, stiffness and compression values. Poplar has excellent strength and stability and is widely used because it is cheaply priced and very diverse.

Working Properties:
A versatile wood that is easy to machine, plane, turn, glue and bore. It dries easily with a minimal movement in performance and has little tendency to split when nailed. It takes and holds paint, enamel and stain exceptionally well. Dark stains are preferred over light ones due to the heartwood repelling absorption to some degree.
