The Illustrated Magazine of Art: Vol. II - antique leather bound book

Volume Two of "The Illustrated Magazine of Art" which is described as "Containing selections from the various departments of painting, sculpture, architecture, history, biography, art-industry, manufactures, scientific inventions and discoveries, local and domestic scenes, ornamental works, etc. etc." Essentially an illustrated record of the world, this volume contains engravings of James Watt, Frederick the Great, Sir Isaac Newton, etc, scenes of Mount Vernon, Niagara Falls, etc., moths, palm trees, etc etc. Text block is in good clean condition; minimal wear and soil, pages still bright. Three-quarter leather binding shows heavy wear, front hinge nearly detached, both hinges look to have been repaired at some point. Leather chipping on spine, wear to edges. Overall fair condition. 8 x 11.25 inches with 508 pages.
