Authentic mid-20th century African hand-carved Ngoma drum from East or Central Africa (likely Uganda or Congo region).
Constructed from a single carved wooden shell and covered in natural hair-on hide, hand-stitched with rawhide thongs in traditional fashion. Used ceremonially for dance and ritual rather than as a modern musical instrument.
Measures approximately 17 inches tall. Excellent craftsmanship with natural patina from age. A fine, authentic example of African tribal art and musical heritage.
