Vintage 70s Penguin Standing Table Lighter on Tulip Style Base in Black & Chrome

Ooh-la-la! This hard-to-find Vintage Penguin Table Lighter just screams 60s to 70s modern! Smoking was such a socialized affair back then that everything from smoking rooms to smoking jackets became quite common. Every house had a smoking table and table lighter, such as this.

Though this lighter is unbranded, i was able to determine it is made by Penguin, a quality lighter manufacturer back in the day. This one is in excellent shape though it is not working. The mechanism still works great and probably just needs a flint and butane to start lighting you up again. It’s a nice heavy lighter with its chromed metal Saarinen-like tulip base and its slightly flared out heavy black plastic body.

These table lighters have become so desirable not only for lighter collectors, but also for anyone decorating in MCM style, which is hugely popular now. These table lighters lighter stands 5 inches tall by 2.5 inches diameter. It’s quite the eye-catching conversational piece!
