This is a vintage Mattel Lil Miss Singing Mermaid doll, originally release around 1990-1991. The doll features blonde, curly hair and alight blue mermaid body/tail with pastel pink and yellow details. It was designed to sing a song when pressed in the middle of her back. The battery compartment is located in the doll's crown. The shells on the doll's bodice were advertised to change color when dipped in water. The doll is approximately 15 inches tall. I believe the dolls were originally sold for about $30 in 1991.
This doll works. It sings when it's upper back is pressed. It uses a 9 volt battery. Note, it's missing a part of a gem on the bottom left of her body.
