xceptional vintage Balinese Barong carving, a magnificent example of Indonesian Hindu-Buddhist folk art.

This single, dark tropical hardwood piece (likely premium Sonokeling/Rosewood) features astonishing deep relief, confirming master-level craftsmanship. The mythological Barong, king of the spirits and symbol of protection and good fortune, is rendered with intricate detail, including a powerful stylized mane, fangs, and bulging eyes, surrounded by complex scrollwork and floral motifs.

Dimensions: 14" high x 8" wide x a substantial 5" deep. This depth makes it a striking 3D wall sculpture.

Acquired in Europe over 10 years ago. Its rich, dark patina highlights the high-quality wood and detail. Perfect for collectors of Southeast Asian art, Balinese masks, tribal decor, or Maximalist/Boho interior design. Excellent condition with minor age-appropriate wear.
